Cantón Regio

Great Mexican food in Pilsen. Place is charming but can be loud. We had their famous Arrachera (skirt steak). It comes in half kilo and kilo sizes. We order the generous kilo size and was glad we did. It comes with beans and tortillas. The steak was tender, juicy and flavorful. The queso fundido with melted cheese had loads of chorizo. The place is BYOB so we had horchata. The only payment they take is cash.

So glad this spot was recommended by a local. Strong authentic vibes here. Still mostly Tex Mex with all the fajitas and grilled beef, but absolutely on point. Everything on the menu and about this place are rad.

My favorite breakfast place of all time and for as long as I can remember. I can't believe I haven't rated them before! My family is from the same little town in Mexico and eating breakfast here is like having my ma's cooking all over again. Best of the best!

Canton Regio in Chicago is easily one of the best Spanish restaurants I’ve ever walked into. From the moment you step inside, the warm and inviting atmosphere makes you feel right at home. The restaurant is spotless, with a clean and well-maintained dining area that adds to the overall experience. The music selection is second to none, setting the perfect tone for an enjoyable and lively meal. The food options here are outstanding. Whether you’re craving expertly grilled meats, fresh seafood, or flavorful sides, every dish is cooked to perfection. The ingredients are fresh, the flavors are bold, and the portion sizes are generous. You can tell that a lot of care goes into every plate that comes out of the kitchen. Beyond the food, the service is top-notch. The employees are incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring that every guest feels welcome. I had the pleasure of meeting the owner, and she was one of the kindest and most hospitable people I’ve met. Her passion for great food and genuine hospitality is reflected in every aspect of the restaurant. Without a doubt, I’ll be returning to Canton Regio in the future. If you’re looking for authentic Spanish cuisine in Chicago, this spot is a must-visit.

The attention to detail and service here will make you believe you are at a high end restaurant! Never had a bad meal. Food is out of this world flavorful and delicious.

Stopped by Regio for a Friday lunch. We sat ourselves and a server came right over. The atmosphere is very cozy and authentic. Regardless of what you order, they serve a small cup of caldo de pollo, a delicious chicken soup that warms your heart. I opted for the carne asada taco dinner. Im not exaggerating...they were top 3 asada tacos of I've ever had. Tender, juicy, smoky, and full of flavor. My goodness they were phenomenal. My wife's shrimp tacos were also terrific. Oh and the horchata is a stone cold killer!! So rich and delicious. Can't wait to go back. And dont forget, Cash Only!!!

As a fellow small business in Chicago. We at Color Cocktail Factory enjoy supporting local businesses around the city. We cannot say enough positive things about Cantón Regio. From the customer service of the waiter, to the steak fajitas and the presentation of the chicken skewers. It was an unforgettable experience. Thank you all so much for what you do.

Awesome once again...we had their as a shared platter, I had their Sabínas and both ! After grace and as I'm 2 bites into my taco, I realize my birthday dinner invitees own dish had not come out yet. I waited for about 5 minutes before waving someone down to find out what's going on. 10 minutes or so later she got her skewers. One of the servers explained how we happened to be there during both kitchen and servers shift change and things got messed up. At which point I explained to the two servers that, it was kinda shitty. Plus, I felt like shit eating in front of her so I stopped eating until her plate arrived. Now my food was semi cold. He apologized profusely and I asked for at least a comp on the agua frescas. I said I'm not trying to get a free meal but it was just crazy that our food didn't come out together and knocking off the $10 for the drinks would be cool and I thought fair. Buddy said "The skewers are on the house bro." Then asked if we needed warm tortillas. She was cool and I asked for some warm flour tortillas to transfer my meat onto would be great. Man, this guy brought 3 fresh whole tacos back and said "On the house bro, again, apologies." Man that was love!! It's only my second time here but they did a awesome job to correct a issue and I appreciate that . They get a 5 for their food but a 10 for service and accommodation!
